Upper World
This stop-motion animation is an experiment with the urban construction and its abstract instinct. Revealing the unnoticeable part of a building with the aesthetic of abstract shape and colour, the film presents the power of natural light and shadow that connects the abstract world and the reality.
While I was shooting at the corridor of the school building, some people were curious about what am I shooting, they looked at me, then looked up to the ceiling, still looks confused. As a conner, people are used to its existence, in the film, I try to emphasise a conner to the audience, and provide a usual perspective to appreciate its existence.
By the power of natural light, the same colour in a 3d world turned into different level of a colour while I captured it onto a 2d surface. Experimenting the relationship between light and shadow in the real wold is the other crucial elements that made this film happened.
